ARE YOU AN OUTLIER?

Recently I finished a great book called 'The Outliers' by Malcolm Gladwell. It focuses on success and what factors can influence it.

'In the case of Outliers, the book grew out a frustration I found myself having with the way we explain the careers of really successful people. You know how you hear someone say of Bill Gates or some rock star or some other outlier—'they're really smart', or 'they're really ambitious”?

Well, I know lots of people who are really smart

and really ambitious, and they aren't worth 60 billion dollars. It struck me that our understanding of success was really crude—and there was an opportunity to dig down and come up with a better set of explanations.'

If you are interested in digging down into success I thoroughly recommend reading this book. I could not put it down

OCSOBER

In October I successfully participated in 'Ocsober' - yes sober for the month of October. Nationally $400,000 was raised for Life Education who plays a very important role in our society by educating our children about the dangers of drug and alcohol use.

Personally I enjoyed taking a break from drinking alcohol for a month, and would encourage anyone who may be looking for a challenge next

Turn your receive emails function to manual and control the arrival of your emails. Many people lose time each day by getting distracted by emails that are not important but may seem

urgent. Schedule several time slots in your diary each day to answer your emails and stick to your schedule. You will be in control of your emails instead of them being in control of you.

CHRISTMAS IS A GOOD TIME TO DONATE TO CHARITY

It is a good time heading into Christmas to review the donations you have made or the charity work you have done.

Many organisations could do with extra gifts in the form of a donation this time of the year. Maybe you have to buy a present for someone that does not need anything. Making a donation on behalf on them can be a perfect gift.
